What is a Marubozu Candle?

A White Marubozu Candle is a large white candle that occurs when the stock opens at the low of the day and rallies to close at the high of the day, leaving no upper or lower shadow.

A Black Marubozu is a large black candle that occurs when the stock opens at the high of the day and falls to close at the low of the day, leaving no upper or lower shadow.

By themselves Marubozu show strength, but when found in a japanese candlestick pattern, they can give a very strong continuation or reversal signal. The kicking pattern is a very powerful and reliable formation that requires two Marubozu. Take the time to learn the different patterns and watch for a Marubozu, they are rare but very significant.
